Rock/Creek donates over $10,000 to Signal Mountain schools

On Tuesday, Rock/Creek co-owner Dawson Wheeler and Randy Whorton presented a check for $7,638 to the Signal Mountain Middle High School in Signal Mountain, Tennessee (via the Mountain Education Foundation).

This $7,638 represents funds raised from the 2012 Rock/Creek StumpJump 50k charity spots, on-site camping at the Signal Mountain Middle High School soccer complex and post-race lunches.

In addition to this sum, $2,000 was gifted to SMMHS prior to the race, and is scheduled to award another $1,000 to Nolan Elementary School for a grand total of $10,638.

Rock/Creek co-owner Dawson Wheeler explains: “Supporting local education for the communities in which we live is something we consider a proud obligation. As longtime residents of Signal Mountain, we’re ecstatic to be able to contribute and continue giving back to schools in our area.”

2012 was the 11th year of the Rock/Creek StumpJump 50k, which starts and finishes at the school. Information and results may be found at
