The Forklift Bike Rack by Yakima is a bike rack for on top of the car and is the first of its kind to actually attach directly to the factory racks. No more buying a million pieces to get your rack onto the top of the car. If you ride a cross country or road bike, than you have found the easiest bike carrier to put on your car. Simply pull out of the box, attach to your factory or exisisting bars and you are ready to go. A quick release skewer and a one handed adjustment dial allows for you to put your bike on and quickly secure it to your car.

I installed this on my 2000 subaru outback on the factory cross bars. Works great and doesn't raise the bike as high up as ones that keep the front wheel on.. Makes zero wind noise without bike and only very slight with the bike on. Ordering another one in the next few weeks. I am tall and relatively fit, so it's not a problem to lift bike on top of car while carefully sliding the forks into place. If you are shorter and have trouble, you may risk scratching your roof and should probably get one that keeps the wheels on. A way to test this would be to simply walk up next to your car and lift the bike up as high as you can, if you cannot get the rear wheel up on the roof, get a different rack.

For the price -- there is no better fork mount in the Yakima aero line. In fact..... I think it is the ONLY fork mount, tray style, aero (compatible with factory crossbars) in the line. So guess what! It's your only option. The good news is they hit the nail on the head. It's everything you'd want or need. Great product, Yakima. (As always.)

Terrific bike rack that goes on your existing roof rack in minutes. I can take my bike down or fasten it back on the roof in less than one minute and it stays there rock steady! You put your bike on and forget about it. I love this rack.
