Shopping for a canoe or kayak? Watch Rock/Creek paddling expert Sara Horne’s boating intro!
"Getting into paddling can be pretty confusing. There are a zillion different boat options, and it can be pretty tough to decide what kind of canoe or kayak is best for what you’d like to do. Do you need a sea kayak, a recreational kayak or a touring kayak? Do you want to run creeks with multiple whitewater rapids, or load up your boat with a weekend’s camping gear and paddle from island to island?"

Comments about Wilderness Systems Tempest 170 Expedition Kayak:

My son pushed me to buy Tempest from Rock Creek rather than Tsunami. I have loved the handling and speed on Tn River and Lake Ocoee, but have used on smaller rivers like the Flint. For the speed you give up some stability, but it is worth it. Great adjustable seat and adjustable foot supports have allowed long periods between stops. I transport on Pathfinder and load and unload by myself. It is not light, but is managable out of water with cart wheels.
