Plan on using these on all mud run competitions (tuff mudder, Tac force..etc). I Use these Vibrams for everything. Love em. I recommend a transition shoe before jumping all in with the shoes. I have brooks pure cadence shoes as a transition shoe. Eventually I want to wear them on all runs. Great shoe.

good fit
they are good for trail walks
maybe I need to get a bit more use to them for running though? It hurts a bit on the trails for running.

This is my 3rd pair of 5 Finger shoes. I have used them more as a training tool than full-time running shoes. I will run 1-2 runs a week in them just to keep my running form and gait in check. The Spyridon is a true minimalists trail shoe. The trails I run are not rocky and mostly flat. But there are many tree roots and downed trees to content with. So, I like the ability to bounce and spring along the trail. These offer just enough protection without needing a heavy trail shoe. The grip is good and the upper does repel dirt and mud. I knew these were not waterproof when purchased, and sometimes playing in the mud can be fun. If you like 5 Fingers they are a good addition to their lineup.

Make sure you know your size before you order them. I wear a 10.5 M consistently between brands, however, I wear a 42 in the Vibram Spyridon LS. I dont regret the purchase at all. I live in Idaho and have used them non stop. I even took them on a backpacking trip exploring high mountain lakes and they felt amazing the whole time. I hiked a 20 mile loop over four days with a buddy. I do not recommend wearing them with pack weights of 50lbs + which is what I normally carry but outside of that you cant go wrong. I lasted about five miles with 50 lbs on my back wearing the Spyridon LS before I put my hikings shoes back on. I just needed more ancle support is all.

- Tough mudder new England
I bought these five fingers for tough mudder new England April 2012, they were awesome. No problems with the mud and up hill battles. this is the second pair of vibrams I have bought from rock creek and I will buy another pair. Customer service was awesome hand no trouble sending my shoes back for a different size. I was with s group of six, only one wearing vibrams and I had the least trouble with shoes.
