These are awesome shoes for hiking -- but I first made the mistake of getting these shoes too fitting. It felt fine when I first tried them on and walked with them around the house, until I really put it to the test on a challenging hike. My street shoe size is 6, and I got a 36 (6 US). I wore them on a 10 mile hike on all kinds of terrain: river crossings, rocky trails and dry land. They felt fine for the first 4 miles, until I started feeling the pain around my toes while navigating myself through the rocky trails. I took a long break after the 5th mile. It felt so good when I took those shoes off! Then the pain started again for the next 5 miles -- Blisters were starting to form around my pinky toes. It was such a huge relief as soon as I finished the hike!

The next day, I went to a local store and tried on a 37, and they were nice and snug! I knew I had to exchange my 36 with a 37, and so I did! I wore them on another 10 mile hike to a mountain with 10,064 ft of elevation. Most of the trails were rocky and had a lot of loose rocks with continuous incline to reach the peak of the mountain. The shoes were so comfortable, light, and gave me a good grip and balance navigating through the rocks -- better than any other big hiking shoes/boots. Not only that, I got a lot of compliments from hikers passing by! Coming back down though, navigating with control through the loose rocks put a lot of pressure on my big toes that they did start to hurt a little, but it wasn't as bad as my last 10 mile hike with the wrong size shoes! No blisters, just a bit of pain. I made it through the finish line just fine.

These shoes are good for "light trekking" like it says on the description, but that doesn't keep me from going on long, challenging hikes with them! However, do expect pain and make sure you can handle it on long hikes with tough terrains. But overall, these shoes are very comfortable and stylish -- dries quick too if you get them wet! I would highly recommend this product and definitely buy another pair. Although I don't recommend buying the KSO Trek for running on concrete, since they have a different kind of padding. If running is something you're more interested in, I would get the Bikila instead.

Make sure you check your size and don't walk anywhere in them if you even think that they might be too snug. You can't return them if you took a trek down the driveway to make sure they fit correctly. Have to sell mine online even tho I wore them for a brief few minutes.

Got these to combat an underpronation issue and they seem to be helping. Still in break in period, so not many miles on them yet, but they are comfy. Be prepared, you get lots of comments on them! I work in a school and the kids always think I'm barefoot - great conversation starters :)

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers KSO Treksport Shoe (Women's):

I got these shoes as a gift, in hot pink, and they look awesome. Mose people like the neutral colors but I think its fun to give people a good show. They protect the bottom of my feet from rocks when im hiking, which is great. Theyre not too good at sticking to slippery boulders because of the tread. I think the original KSO would be better for that. Also, I wear a 7.5-8 and I got a 38. I should have gotten a 39.

I like these a lot. I like that they have threads and are more sturdy than my other Vibrams. They are a bit harder to get on due to being so snug but that really helps to insure that sand and rocks stay out. The run tight and the ankle is very snug. I hope the stretch a bit but in all, great!
