Vibram FiveFingers
KSO Shoe (Women's)
Product Number: 15108
The Vibram FiveFingers KSO Barefoot Shoe is one of the most innovative products to come out in a couple years. The Barefoot shoe is based on the age old concept that being barefoot helps your balance, your connection with the earth and energy, and gives you the ability to move in a more natural, healthy way.
The KSO is designed to "Keep Stuff Out" with its abrasion resistant stretch polyamide and breathable stretch mesh that wraps your entire forefoot to keep out gravel, grit, mud and other possible irritants. A single hook and loop closure helps secure your foot in the shoe giving you the ability to scramble up steep slopes or hop down river cobbles.
By walking in a protective sleeve over your feet, encased in sticky, protective Vibram rubber, the FiveFingers KSO stimulates the muscles in your feet and lower legs to build strength and improve range of motion. Many people who use these shoes have said they had a better sense of balance, greater agility, and visibly improved posture.
Constructed with a non marking Vibram TC1 performance rubber sole, and a thin abrasion resistant stretch polyamide fabric that fits low on the foot for comfort and quick drying.

I was inspired about the Vibram shoe after seeing the Dr Oz show which mentioned about barefoot running. I was specifically interested in a pair for an upcoming marathon that I would be running in. I was told by the store clerk to test them out first as the result was different for everyone. I trained in them for over a hundred miles and felt comfortable enough in them to run my first marathon, which I accomplished on valentines day of 2010. I have just run another half marathon in them. I would not go back to wearing regular running shoes for running. I'm more comfortable in my Vibram,KSO. I get a lot of comments and inquiries about them. My answer is always the same, I love these shoes.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers KSO Shoe (Women's):
I started out walking in the 5 fingers- I intended to start out gradually but walked 5 miles the first day on chipseal and sand. They felt great however I am used to walking barefoot in the house. I felt a little tenderness between my toes but that's it. A few weeks later, when I graduated to jogging, I ran 3 miles focusing on NOT striking with my heels (maybe that's why I ran so far my first time). My achilles were a bit sore by the end of the run but otherwise felt great. It was the first time I had run in months. They feel great on me foots.
The elastic band around the ankle is pretty good at keeping stuff out. Only con is that they get stinky pretty fast so I wash then regularly, they are more like socks than shoes and there is not much tread for trail jogging so could be slippery when wet.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers KSO Shoe (Women's):
Running outdoors or inside on a track the KSO's are awesome. Be warned the tread does not hold up well on a treadmill. Other than that the KSO is an awesome shoe.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers KSO Shoe (Women's):
Read McDougall's book, wanted to explore barefoot running. Like the idea of having the foot freedom along with protection from road stuff. Am slowly building up...so far, no complaints!

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers KSO Shoe (Women's):
I use these shoes mainly for running. I train in karate, where I am used to a lot of barefoot work. That, coupled with terrible arches in my feet and weak ankles, make it very uncomfortable to run in any running shoes. The Vibram are incredibly comfortable, and running in them is almost like running barefoot, only with a little more protection to the feet!
The only downside to these shoes is that, since it is quite fitted, it is not suitable for all foot shapes.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers KSO Shoe (Women's):
My girlfriend wanted a pair of FiveFingers after reading the book "Born to Run" She realized that traditional running shoes were bad for your joints. It took a few times wearing them to get the toes to fit nicely. Now she is re-learning the running technique to switch to the balls of her feet and not the heals. She likes them a lot though and looks forward to enjoying running as opposed to just doing it.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers KSO Shoe (Women's):
There is truly no shoe like the KSO. It is very versatile! I can throw them on in morning to my dog for a walk, for an evening run, hiking, I've even ride bike in them. They do take some time to get use to! I recommend wearing them for a little each day for a week or so to break them in. Running in them is a run like no other. Calf muscles tighten up like a rock in just a few minutes after start of run. They did initially give me blisters on the back of my heel. I feel that they are a little pricey, but I would definitely recommend them!

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers KSO Shoe (Women's):
I work at a beach that has lots of rocks in the sand and these shoes are the best. They protect my feet from the rocks, I can go from the beach to water without any issues. And they're great for windsurfing and sailing.
