Vibram FiveFingers
Bikila Shoe (Women's)
Product Number: 21878
Unlike any running shoe on the market today, the Bikila is a breakthrough product that encourages a more natural, healthier and more efficient forefoot strike. While many folks have been running in their FiveFingers for years, the Bakila is the first model designed specifically for a more natural running experience.
Built on an entirely new platform, the Bikila features a Dri-Lex covered 3mm polyurethane insole (thickest under the ball) and a 4m anatomical pod outsole design that offers more planting protection, and distributes forefoot impact without compromising important ground feedback essential to a proper forefoot strike running form.
A more athletic padded collar and topline, a single hook-and-loop closure, 3mm reflective surfaces and tear resistant TPU toe protection finish off this breakthrough design.

Which Vibram FiveFingers Bikila running shoe is right for you? Comparing the Bikila & Bikila LS
"For those of us with regular, “average feet,” which Vibram FiveFingers Bikila is the right choice? Is the Bikila LS a specialty model for particular foot types, or do the laces represent an across-the-board upgrade from the Bikila? For runners transitioning from traditional running shoes, laces are certainly familiar, but are they a benefit? ..."

First day with my Bikila's and I have to admit, I am enjoying them.
Wearing them around the house and driving felt as if I had slippers on.
Wearing them while teaching a fitness class on hard wood floors was a big mistake. It was nearly impossible to hold proper form for any exercise, I was sliding everywhere.
My first attempt at running was bit more challenging than expected. I did an interval between grass and concrete. On the grass I felt like a child having a spring in every step. When I moved onto the concrete I had to exert much more energy, as if my weight doubled, although it was still comfortable.
I purposely stepped on pebbles and berry's, any thing I could find on the ground, to see if I could feel the pressure on my foot. No, no pressure, no discomfort.
This is the first time in ~20yrs that I ran without pain.
I have a "possible" stress fracture on the bottom of my right foot and have been running through the pain all these years.
:)
P.S. no matter how comfy they are...........................they are still freaky looking. I definitely got a lot of comments on them. (not compliments)

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Bikila Shoe (Women's):
I've been running with Five Fingers for several years now and the Bikila is the better choice for training, in my experience. Lately I'm testing how the use of lightweight toe socks affects how smelly the shoes get over time. Better to have to wash socks then having to wash the shoes! If I have any criticism, it is that the soles don't last for the miles I expect to get out of them. I figure I should get at least 1000 miles out of a pair of running shoes. Perhaps shoe companies should give a mileage warranty such as is given for automobile tires! Imagine - a running shoe with a 5000 mile warranty!

I used these mostly for kettlebell training and strength workouts to keep me grounded. However, they're so comfortable I usually wear them around the house all weekend too!

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Bikila Shoe (Women's):
DEFINITELY try styles and sizes at a local sporting goods store to find your size. The Vibram sizing instructions were NO BUENO for me, but my instinct (my usual EU size) was spot on. Took some time to break them in, or for my toes to get used to the pressure on the tips. Also, the trick to getting them on without total frustration is just to relax and slip your foot in. You'll get the hang of it. I love them SOOOOOOOOOO much, I'm considering ordering a second pair of the same ones, because I know I'll miss them when they're done.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Bikila Shoe (Women's):
As far as running shoes go, these are the best I've ever worn. I have a pair of my own that I bought a few months back. These shoes are incredibly comfortable while running. Yes, they take a while to get used to, but they force you to take on a more natural running style which leads to more comfortable running. If I could, I would buy a pair for all of my friends and family.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers Bikila Shoe (Women's):
Beautiful product. I don't know why I bother wearing any other type of shoe. Only complaint, on my right foot, the sole has 'peeled' a bit. But since the 'glove' part of the shoe wraps all the way around, it seems to be minor.
I'd buy another pair hands down.

It's a great shoe for barefoot running. I enjoy the separated toes. Being in Canada was a downfall due to paying duty.

I bought this shoe for my daughters b-day. Wasn't sure if they would fit without having to return. we followed the measuring chart, and they fit like a glove. She loves them, wore them for a week straight, did not want to take them off!
