What’s in MY pack? Backpacking gear lists from a Great Smoky Mountains overnighter
"Ever since we published a series of backpacking gear lists this spring (an ultralight backpacking gear list, a traditional backpacking gear list and a beginner’s backpacking gear list) several blog readers have contacted me to ask which of those items I personally carry. After all, it’s one thing to compile lists of suggested backpacking gear, and another thing entirely to disclose exactly what I take on the trail. Well, what better way to follow up those gear lists, and answer that question, than with another gear list?"

Comments about Vasque Breeze GTX XCR (Women's):
Yeah. Just got them and after wearing them in the house realize they actually fit my narrow heel. I have tried numerous boots and ended up sending them back because they were too wide. I do have orthotics which I will put in after taking out the insoles which came with the boot. I do believe these will work......

Comments about Vasque Breeze GTX XCR (Women's):
I was never a fan of high top hiking boots until I got these. They provide great support, good traction, and they're comfortable for multiple long days. Once broken in, they're flexible enough that the high top hasn't bothered me. I honestly feel like they've saved my ankles backpacking... I'm sold.

Comments about Vasque Breeze GTX XCR (Women's):
I bought a pair of Vasque Breezes for a backpacking trip that evolved into a very wet and potentially uncomfortable adventure. However, after six hours of hiking up a mountain in the pouring rain, my feet were still dry. I was amazed - considering my fellow hikers were practically swimming in their boots. Besides keeping my feet dry, I was blister-free over the course of the two-day, 30-mile hike. The ankle support is great, and the traction is amazing - even on slippery rocks. I would buy these again in a heartbeat.
