"I thought you might like to know - the race this weekend was a wonderful event. The runners were all great folks. The volunteers were great. The organization and execution was great - it was a terrific first trail race for me. I plan to do more. Thanks to all the organizers and volunteers."

David Pruitt

"I just wanted to send a quick thank you note to those who organized today's race and all the volunteers that made it a great success. I had
not run a marathon in eight years and I am so glad that I picked today to go the distance again. I had done Stump Jump a few times and was always impressed with your organization and today was no different.

"If I had to sum up your store, your events and your team in two words it would be "pure and authentic." You guys are what it is all about - thank you again for reminding me that I have it in me and for putting together a first class event in a spectacular venue.

"I will be back next year and hope I can convince my wife to join as well. I know she will love it."

The Scenic City Trail Marathon will set the bench for a state record in trail running. The trails at Raccoon are fast and forgiving, making for a great leisurely race for new trail runners or a full-on speed fest for those in the hunt for the first state record for a trail race.

Now part of the Vasque Project, this year's Scenic City Trail Marathon & 1/2 Marathon promises to be an incredible experience. Sponsored by Rock/Creek, Vasque, Marmot, and SmartWool. Participants will receive a technical Marmot t-shirt. Prizes and raffles will be provided as well.

SORBA-Chattanooga has spearheaded the development of this trail network. If you intend to run the course before the race, please keep these suggestions in mind:

"SORBA-Chattanooga is currently in the process of constructing an approximately 45 mile trail network on TVA's Raccoon Mountain, fifteen minutes from downtown Chattanooga. To get to the trailhead, take TVA Road to the top of the mountain and park in the East Brow Parking Lot on your left. The trail head is marked with a small sign so it may be a little difficult to find your first time out. After parking in the east brow parking lot, get on your bike and ride back out of the parking lot. There are of parking lots on top of the mountain, all with have direct access to the trail. If you find that a parking lot is full, please proceed to the next parking lot. If you park on the grass you vehicle will be ticketed! At the present time 16.5 miles of singletrack have been constructed. Trail work continues. If you wish to help move this project forward please review our calender of events for an upcoming trail work day, and bring a friend."

Hotels & Campgrounds

All of the Rock/Creek Trail Series events are convenient to downtown Chattanooga. We have a hotels & accommodations page here that lists several downtown hotels as well as some camping options.

No Pets on the Trail!

Out of common sense and with respect for legal issues, please leave the dogs, monkeys, etc. at home.
