Comments about Therm-A-Rest NeoAir Xtherm Sleeping Pad:

Some of the reviews I read had me believing this pad would be unbearably loud. It's not much louder than anything else moving on a tent floor. The pad is definitely light and compact. The added warmth, at the cost of a few extra $, a few grams, and a little noise is worth it if you're skimping on sleeping bag weight and volume. Compared to the ProLite, I would say its not worth the upgrade (if youve already got a ProLite) and possibly not worth the extra $80 (if youre trying to decide between the two). The ProLite is self inflating and the fabric durability seems a little better. The Xtherm is lighter, more compact, and warmer. As with all camping gear, that last 10% performance increase will cost you 100% more $, sometimes its totally worth it.
