I tried these on at the store and liked them because they lock on to my feet securely. I noticed a little chafing after I wore them all day but the sandals softened and my feet toughened and now I wear them all the time.I wear them with merino wool socks outside in Minnesota winter, and boating on the Mississippi in the summer where they get wet all day. They have lasted 4 years and still show no signs of serious wear. These are the best sandals I have ever owned.I am buying more because I will have nothing at all to wear if these should ever break.

I've worn Teva's since they were invented, and this is the first pair I've had that I'd rate as horrible. I wore them for a while around the house and everything seemed o.k. Wore them the next day to hit several stores. By the time I got home, I was bleeding in three places. Unless you have elephant skin on your feet, these are not the shoes for you. The strap across your toes does NOT have cushioning all the way to the edge, and there is nylon edging that touches your skin. After an hour of walking, I was a cripple. The money you save on this style is wasted. Blow another [$] and get a good style!

Comments about Teva Hurricane 2 Sandal (Kid's):

These will be worn hiking in central/norther California on trails, the beach, and around town. Bought my first pair as a river rat in the upstate South Carolina and wouldn't wear anything else. Best for when you might get your feet wet, but need better stability/traction than a flip flop can provide

Comments about Teva Hurricane 2 Sandal (Kid's):

During a visit to a sporting goods store my favorite sandal of another manufacturer was out of stock so I purchased this Teva alternatively. That was over 3 years ago. Today my Velcro has unstitched itself from the strap and in need of repair. I thought I could simply replace the shoes but I see they're on backorder for my size. I am out of luck. In the years I've had the sandals they've been nothing short of spectacular. From Mexico hiking, beaches, snorkeling (and I must say they are perfect diving shoes),fishing, boating, camping, stomping out camp fires, especially accidental ones... this shoe is my "go to" sandal. It has endured the most extreme places and held up to the task. Teva deserves recognition in this department because I can go through sandals, boots, and hiking shoes, you name it, in record time but not these. My only gripe is the method in which the Velcro is attached to the strap. It is stitched on around the perimeter and is certainly the weakest area of the sandal. I say this because the Velcro has always been an issue, with the thread slowly peeling away, leaving black thread hanging over the top of my foot, irritating me, I knew it was a matter of time. Glue works as a temporary repair but still, the Velcro has always been an issue since the shoes were first broke in. The Velcro is now hanging by a few threads. Other than this the shoes are still in great shape even though the sole is mostly worn. The secure fit the shoe has is a helpful hindrance. On many occasions, such as being knee deep clay at the Gulf of Mexico flats, where it's low tide and the earth is exposed, while walking across the deep clay my shoe came out with my foot every time. Thanks Teva! No amount of vacuum could rip this shoe from my foot thanks to the genius who strategically placed the rear strap above the heel and on the Achilles tendon. That position has been a struggle with me on many occasions though. These shoes are clearly designed to stay on your feet, which is a problem at times. Sometimes sharp sea shells get caught between your foot and sandal, fire ants, hot coals, and other insects, making you want to quickly remedy the problem. Not with these shoes! They have to be undone. Once while holding on to a tree to keep from falling off a mountain, I really needed to use my left foot to pry off my sandal but couldn't. I had to endure the fire ants until I was able to reach a place to get my sandals off. Ants usually don't bother me but they get under the strap and thats when they get irritated and bite. Being barefoot really helps prevent this. On the other hand there are also times when I just want to go 20 feet but I'm barefoot. I can't just slip them on so I've learned to close the ankle strap but not have it strapped to the shoe. It's still uncomfortable but I manage and I don't need t carry a second set with me. Overall the sandals are incredible and almost a perfect shoe. I do wish there was another way to have the sandals be more like slippers when they're not needed for the extreme but again, it's manageable.

Comments about Teva Hurricane 2 Sandal (Kid's):

I wear these every day for my work hobbies, casual and semi formal wear (not that my wife always approves!). I live in Oklahoma. When the weather is cold and icy, I add a pair of socks.

I've had many a pair, and I have worn them so much the soles separated. Recently, I actually wore holes in the soles (too bad, they were just getting really comfortable).

              Great product.

Comments about Teva Hurricane 2 Sandal (Kid's):

Went with the Hurricane this time instead of the Tera Fi. I liked the color choices better on the Hurricane, I actually don't miss all the extra rubber padding pieces that were on the Tera Fi, and like the more original feel of the Hurricane. I usually get around 3 years of wear out of a pair of Tevas, and hope these last as long. My last pair of Tera Fi's split along the ball of my right foot (which I superglued), but that was after the tread had completely worn off, which took 3 years of daily wear. VERY HAPPY with longevity and quality!!! Also, the new materials resist foot sweat longer, and I run mine through the dishwasher every year to clean them up.
