The M-3G Global Compass by Suunto is a professional compass for demanding hikers, mountaineers, and really anyone who gets out in to the backcountry.  The M-3G Compass represents a durable, reliable, high quality navigational aid, which performs flawlessly in even the most demanding of conditions. This clear, base plate compass features a large liquid filled capsule and adjustable declination correction scale important when gaining your bearings on slopes or potential avalanche conditions.

Another convenient feature of the M-3G is the serrated bezel ring, which is easy to turn even in cold conditions while wearing gloves. Due to its easy-to-read luminous markings and magnifying lenses, the compasses of the M-Series are also ideally suited to navigating in conditions of poor visibility.

Comes with a lanyard that lays flat when postioned over a map and glows in the dark for late night navigation. Great for adventure racing and alpine conditions.

Comments about Suunto M-3G Global Compass:

This compass is great for backcountry routefinding. Doesn't have the bulk and weight of one with a sighting mirror, while still having the elements needed for technical navigation. Easy to adjust for declination as well. Great compass.

Comments about Suunto M-3G Global Compass:

I always used the basic Silva compasses in Boy Scouts, however the M-3 global is clearly easier to use. It is easier to figure out and correct for your declination than other models on the market. It has a glow in the dark feature, map scale/mileage converter and lanyard included...Priceless.
