The Smartwool Mountaineering Extra Heavy Crew Sock features extra-heavy cushioning which will keep your feet warm and dry when you're mountaineering, ice climbing or multi-day backpacking. Arch brace holds the sock in place, and a flat-knit toe seam will keep you comfortable.

• Starts with the finest grade of Australian Merino wool (considered the Cashmere of Wool), specially selected and treated with the revolutionary SmartWool process – removing the microscopic ends of the fibers which are the cause of "shrinkage"
• The fibers in the sock contain up to 2,000 porous membranes per inch – when knitted into socks, these tiny membranes create literally millions of microscopic air pockets which are the key to thermo-regulation (temperature control and evaporation of moisture)
• The Merino wool fibers used in SmartWool socks are also longer than other conventional wool sock fibers, this extra length creates a knitted yarn that is itch-free and silky soft to the touch
