Sea to Summit introduces "Reactor", a Thermolite sleeping bag liner. The fabric for this liner is DuPont’s Thermolite. It is the lightest weight Thermolite available and Sea to Summit is the first to use this new fabric in a sleeping bag liner. Thermolite is a hollow core fiber that provides extraordinary warmth for it's weight and remains extremely breathable.

So, it's much more comfortable to sleep in and creates more warmth for its weight. The Reactor liner will add up to 15 degrees of warmth to a sleeping bag or can be used on its own as the ideal warm weather bag. It's very light and compact weighing just 8 oz (190 grams) and the packs into its own 3" x 5" siliconised nylon stuff sack.

Comments about Sea to Summit Reactor Thermolite Sleeping Bag Liner:

I have used it only once during a climb and it was very warm! I used it in addition to my sleeping bag. This is very light and I could easily pack it in my sleeping bag stuff-sack itself. Haven't used long enough to comment on durability though.

Comments about Sea to Summit Reactor Thermolite Sleeping Bag Liner:

This liner is made of very thin, almost gauze, cloth. I bought it to line my winter down sleeping bag. I see now that there is a heavier version of this that may work better for my purpose. However, my experience with this product is favorable for summer use. It was too thin to keep me comfortable at 70 degrees by itself. But when I used my base layer as pj's it was easier to get to sleep. Also a light sheet, or my raincoat, over the top works well. I would say that this liner will not be able to be a stand alone sleeping bag because it breathes too well and is colder than my silk liner that does function well by itself.

As a liner it works very well and does add a lot of warmth to my sleeping bag. It kept the bag clean, washed well and dried quickly. It is comfortable next to skin but does catch on toe nails and rough callouses on hands and feet. It is narrow but that works well in my mummy bag. It creates a micro-climate inside the bag that is just moist enough and just warm enough for comfort and is well worth the trouble of getting into and out of it. I found the draw cord annoying and replaced it with elastic.

Over all, I like this liner and will be happy to carry it along on summer trips. It is a bit expensive but more versitile than having another sleeping bag. It will make a less than clean hotel/hostel more acceptable-some do not allow you to use your sleeping bag.

Comments about Sea to Summit Reactor Thermolite Sleeping Bag Liner:

I've only had the chance to use this liner once but it preformed great. lightweight and really did add a great deal of warmth. the temps were around 17 and with this inside my 20 degree bag it was too warm, I used the liner alone to cover my head and face it worked great

Comments about Sea to Summit Reactor Thermolite Sleeping Bag Liner:

If you're like me and hate washing your bag, this liner absorbs the funk and adds a few degrees while it's at it, maybee 5 or 10. Works great in the summer as astand alone bag also.
