The XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Shoe by Salomon is a new design that offers anyone who loves to trail run, a super stable, highly cushioned, versatile running shoe that can go from the track to the trail with ease. Constructed with a GTX membrane that protects your feet from deep puddles or harsh rain, keeping your feet dry and safe from saturating. The midsole is made to control pronation and is equipped with a triple density EVA for extra support.
A great versatile trail runner that is lightweight and breathable, even though it is Gore-Tex lined and very burly.

Comments about Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Shoe (Women's) - 2008:
This is the first hiking/trail shoe that I have owned that has had a narrow heel and large enough toe box for my foot. Day hiked over 14 miles on consecutive days and had no issues with heel blisters or black toe.
This shoe however is a little too light to be used backpacking. Tried to use it on an extended backpack but padding in forefoot was not substantial enough, but then again this shoe is not advertised as a backpacking shoe.
I would recommend this shoe to anyone that has narrow heels and needs a wider toe box. Great shoe, I will be buying more - please don't change the last!

Comments about Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Shoe (Women's) - 2008:
I love this shoe-it's colors, comfort, lacing method. The only drawback-it's size. Unfortunately, I can't return for a half size smaller since I've worn them outside. I would strongly recommend ordering a half size down due to the fact that they run big.

Comments about Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Shoe (Women's) - 2008:
I took these to go hiking in Machu Picchu as well as the mountains in Peru. These shoes were super comfortable, as I thought they would be. Salomon products fit my feet really well - I have long toes and high arches. These hiking shoes had really great grip and the lacing system is awesome. The grips held up really well on the steep walk up on dirt and loose rocks. I love Salomon footwear and adore the snowboard boots (Kiana) that I've worn for the last six seasons. I haven't had a chance to test them in wet conditions yet, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they hold up.
