Comments about Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX (Men's):
Awesome shoes! Great for the trails and just getting around everywhere. Very waterproof, only downfall is that they keep water in as well. But other than that they are great so far

Comments about Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX (Men's):
Got these for mountain training for the Mt Marathon Race in Seward AK, July 4th. They are ultra-lite and very form fitting. I have flat feet and over-pronate when running. These are solid support for the arch. I do wear orthotics in them. Only concern is that the lacing system holds up. Very happy and looking at a second pair as back-up!

Comments about Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX (Men's):
Very comfortable shoe! I use it as my everyday out and about shoe. I've run in it a few times but I know I over pronate when I run so it's not good for me in that use but other wise great investment.

Comments about Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX (Men's):
The XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Shoe by Salomon is my third pair of Salomon's, possibly will be the only brand for me. At my age of seventy-two I continue to need the casual, secure full foot fit that I needed 50 years ago but didn't exist when I was running 100 mile trails a week in boots. My feet too frequently can and do hurt, but these Salomon's keep me moving comfortably. You should take care of your feet.

Comments about Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX (Men's):
I use this shoe in place of a mountaineering boot and it is outstanding. It doesn't last as long as a mountaineering boot, but for a shoe it is very sturdy. I get about 1 year out of it with very intensive use.
I recently climbed the Matterhorn in these shoes, and even when strapped into crampons they were great performers and kept my feet dry.
I wear this shoe every day, whether approaching a climb in the sierras or at my desk in the office. It is that comfortable.
I do not use it as a running shoe. It does not seem to have the cushioning bounce that my running shoes provide, but it does provide excellent support. Perhaps with an insert it could rival other pure running shoes in cushioning.

Comments about Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX (Men's):
I great running shoe for those nasty wet days. It offers all the benefits of the XA Pro 3D Ultra, but it is Gortex! They are a little heavy, but who cares your feet are dry.

Comments about Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX (Men's):
This is my second pair and I love them. The first pair I wore for a year and a half. They are used on medium trails and work great in muddy, slick conditions that I often run in. They keep everything out, even though they are a low cut shoe.
