The SpeedCross 2 Running Shoe by Salomon are lightweight, with a low to the ground profile for all types of terrain. Inspired by the British terrain of grassy knolls and soggy dirt, Salomon made these flexible with shock absorbing rubber outsole lugs that compensate for the minimal midsole cushioning. With one tug on the lacing system you get a foot hugging mesh upper, combined with a narrow heel cup that provides secure snugness for every stride. Breathable, tightly woven mesh uppers gives excellent weatherproofing for all but the most heinous conditions, but are not overweight or too hot.
Light and nimble, and provides more feel than most running shoes. With a stabilizing cushion in the heel, and a stiff medial posting to minimize pronation you can stay strong longer and keep your momentum moving forward.

The Speedcross 2 is a light, comfortable shoe with lots of grip. It is a great shoe to race the shorter distances. It does have less stability control than most other salomon shoes, but it's worth it for the lighter weight. The grippy rubber will keep you feeling confident when it gets slippery.

I think Salomon missed the target audience with this shoe...it is an awesome shoe for those who play Ultimate. Great traction on the field and turf, nice arch, and snug (not tight) fit. I had the first version, and there seems to be not much difference between it and the new other than a couple cosmetic touches.

Comments about Salomon Speedcross 2 Running Shoe (Men's):
I love these shoes. No wonder Outside magazine rates them so high. I currently live in the panhandle of Florida. The terrain is mostly flat, with occasional rolling hills. The trails are mostly deep sand. The Speedcross 2 just eats up this terrain, grips the surface, and propels you forward. Overall, the Speedcross 2 gives you a cushioned and stable run. I love them. The only shortcoming that I can see is that the tread wears a little fast if the surface you tend to run on is asphalt. However, that is the ONLY thing that I can see wrong with the shoe.
