Comments about Salomon S-Lab Sense Ultra Shoe (Unisex):

Awesome trail shoe. Excellent durability for most components of the shoe, especially the sole. I have around 150 miles on the shoes and the soles show no wear. The shoes are very light weight and extremely comfortable even over long distances, such as 50k or 50M ultras. The rock plate provides more than adequate protection. My only issue with these shoes is the mesh durability. On the outside of each of the shoes, the mesh has opened up over my small toe. Not a deal breaker, but considering the fantastic durability of the rest of the shoe (and the cost!) would be great to have a more durable mesh in this area or some sort of thin overmold. The mesh breaths and sheds water extremely well. This is my third pair of these shoes and I highly recommend.

Comments about Salomon S-Lab Sense Ultra Shoe (Unisex):

I train and race 50k and 50M ultras in these shoes. They're super light weight and comfortable. The traction is great on dry or wet conditions, including snow. The sole is extremely durable and shows little signs of wear. This is my third pair. The only downside is I'm starting to see some holes develop in the mesh where my small toes rub against the material. Happens to every pair. Some improvements would be nice to make the mesh more durable.

Comments about Salomon S-Lab Sense Ultra Shoe (Unisex):

I know you are never supposed to run a race with shoes you've never tried before, but ... I did it. This was my first 50k, 7k+ elev, I wanted a light shoe. I received them a few days before, walked with them at home, felt that the fit was good and I could "risk it". The rubber protection in front seemed to constrain my toes too much, I put them under tension to expand, not sure how much that worked. It should be made more flexible in the front, don't need to constrain toes too much to ensure fit. I don't think that is a problem with break-in, the front of the shoe doesn't budge. Bottom line, I ran my 50k and I felt great in these shoes. They were hitting in the front on steep downhills, got a couple of small blisters on my right foot, very happy. Great shoe. It remains too expensive though.

Comments about Salomon S-Lab Sense Ultra Shoe (Unisex):

The Salomon S-LAB Sense is may be the best trail shoe on the market. It is relatively flat (4mm drop) and is very light weight. The shoe is durable and drys very quickly when wet. The toe box is protected with a cap. I have avoided many stubbed toes from roots, rocks and stumps because of this feature. The shoe is versatile enough for short to middle distance, but will also provide a comfortable ride over long distances. I ran a 100 mile trail race in my pair and wouldn't trade them for the the world. They are expensive from a pricing stand point, but worth every penny.

Comments about Salomon S-Lab Sense Ultra Shoe (Unisex):

I am normally a barefoot runner, I was looking for a new shoe to add to my tools for when my feet are tired but I would still like to get out on the trail. I have a hard time picking shoes because the toe box on most shoes doesnt fit me well, they always tend to be too snug. I picked up the S-Lab Sense and was impressed instantly. It is a great fitting shoe and is built on a minimal platform that easily alows me to keep my barefoot form but adds just a little cushin for tired feet. I have taken these shoes through dry rocky trails, trails covered in mud, and through ankle high streams and nothing phases them, they take it on almost as if i was barefoot. Salomon got it right with this pair of shoes. My only issue with them is initially they were just a little snug in the toe box but after just one run they loosened up and now they fit great.
