    Best Uses

    • Backpacking
    • Hiking

These boots were ready to go right out of the box. I wore them around town for a couple of days to break them in, but I probably could have hit the trail right away. Their maiden voyage was a 45 mile backpacking trip that included sand-dunes, root-y, hilly forest trails, rock cliffs, and mucky wetlands. They performed in every environment perfectly. The soles are stiff enough to provide support, but flexible enough to give great traction. They stayed nice and dry even while standing in the lake, or hiking all day in the mud. If you're going to be spending all day hiking up scree slopes in the mountains, you should opt for a tougher boot, but for most hiking and backpacking applications, this boot can't be beat!
