The Light Amphibian 2 Shoe by Salomon offers the versatility of a sandal, but the support and protection of a shoe. With a collapsible back, you can use them as a slide-in shoe when wearing paddling socks or just feeling lazy.
A breathable mesh covers the top of the shoe and dries quickly, giving you plenty of ventilation when hiking to the put in, or checking out your next rapid. Agion antimicrobial treatment is added to the sockliner, deterring any bacteria from forming, especially important with shoes that can get wet, and the Contagrip outsole offers great traction on most any surface, allowing you to wear these on the trail, wet rocks or uneven terrain.
New for this year the Light Amphibian 2 shoe has a comfy Bamboo liner for extra comfort when wearing without socks reducing any chafing while also offering natural odor deterrence.

Comments about Salomon Light Amphibian Shoe (Women's):
they are cute and comfortable, but they do not dry out quickly. i got them drenched in a lake while canoeing yesterday, and they are still wet today. i was expecting to be able to go on a hike and walk through creeks and have them dry quickly, like a sport sandal. But not at all. You would get a raging case of athletes foot if you kept hiking in these after they got wet.

Comments about Salomon Light Amphibian Shoe (Women's):
We bought this shoe for cave tubing and it performed beautifully. The only problem was a blister on the inside of my arch. My husband and I each had a pair of these and we each got the blister at the same spot. Hopefully, now they are broken in and the next time we wear them we won't have that problem. I am use to sandals so these are perfect. I tend to keep the heel down which was perfect for the airport. I would definitely buy these again.

Comments about Salomon Light Amphibian Shoe (Women's):
These are obviously great for trekking through water, letting sand and water in/out while protecting your feet from rocks. But these shoes are great for so many purposes, in addition to watersporting. Think about how easy airline travel is with these shoes: You get supportive tennis shoes, that you can slip on and off to get through security and to your gate on time! For that reason, they're great to wear while traveling, and they also fit nicely in your suitcase/backpack because they're so light and flexible.
They're also great for daily use, and comfortable enough to slip on without socks. I have high arches and plantar fasciiitis on and off, so I can't be wearing flimsy shoes, even just for taking the trash out.
The ONLY reason I had to give these shoes 4/5 stars is because they don't come with the elastic easy-pull laces that my previous Solomon amphibian shoes had. That was easy enough to remedy though, with a $2 pair of laces from a local running store.
Overall, these are wonderful multi-purpose shoes best for trekking through water, travel, and everyday casual use.
