14th Annual Rock/Creek River Gorge Trail Race
Run every year since 2001, the Rock/Creek River Gorge Trail Race has become a cult classic! The race takes place on the gorgeous Mullens Cove Loop in Prentice-Cooper State Forest -- just outside Chattanooga, Tennessee -- and is run entirely on singletrack except for a half-mile start on forest roads. The course boasts incredible bluff views of the Tennessee River Gorge, a lush forest landscape featuring hemlocks and rhododendrons, and some rocky, technical terrain including the infamous "rock garden" at Short Creek! Come prepared for unpredictable spring weather and the potential for slick footing.
This race is a great opportunity for Rock/Creek StumpJump 50k runners to sample the middle portion of that course, for competitive trail racers to test their limits on one of the nicest trails we can imagine, and for new trail runners to experience one of our favorite runs.
Proceeds to benefit the Tennessee River Gorge Trust for trail maintenance through Southeastern Conservation Corps.
