The Black Diamond Rocklock Screwgate carabiner is one of Black Diamond's largest locking biners. The new Keylock has a non-snagging keylock nose. A slightly curved spine maximizes the gate opening and a square hinge end holds your belay loop securely in place. The Rocklock's large size makes it an excellent choice when using two ropes, wearing gloves, or when using a variety of belaying and rapelling techniques. Its large capacity can handle multiple clove hitches at belays. The Rocklock Carabiner is also easily operated with one hand.

I've used this on long rappels and the gate stays screwed down. Just sometimes it wants to shift and crossload but don't they all?

Cosmetic defects are the way to go

The "cosmetic defect" was nothing more than a speck on the inside of the small curve. I'm sure the paint is worn off there by now any way. This is a solid general all around large locker. Works well in anchor building, belaying, or in a personal anchor. No compaints here. What's not to like.

I used this carabiner while roped into my team when we summitted Mt. Rainier. Very easy to open and close and just the right sizing.
As far as the "cosemtic damage"... I dont think anyone some much as sneezed on it. Looks perfect!

Great product, especially if you belay with an ATC or Gri-Gri. Probably the best low cost wide locking biner out there. But personally I use a Trango Cinch which is a little smaller than a gri-gri so it often gets stuck at the gate because the mouth is actually even too big.
