The Heckler Daypack by The North Face is the perfect pack for back to school, going to and from work, or just hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains for a day. Equipped with a comfortable, stitched foam back panel, you can carry a heavy load without the fatigue or discomfort of other day packs.
There is a large, main compartment with a universal sleeve for a laptop or a hydration system and tons of other stow away pockets for pens, calculators, wallets, phones. etc... North Face even added a new front stash pocket to the Heckler with an audio port for those morning commutes or afternoon walks home. A reinforced daisy chain and X-bungee on the front of the pack allows for those extra clothing layers to be kept for easy access and gives you more room inside the pack for heavier items.
Water bottle holders on each side are great to keep your water, snacks, or other quick to grab necessities and reflective hits are located around the pack for those early morning, or late night trips home in the dark.

I purchased this product as it was recommended for 17" lap top screens. I travel frequently through airports with my lap top and was looking for a bag that would make it easily through sercurity. While the bag is very comfortable, fits the lap top easily with a day or two of clothes, it is awkward to remove your laptop if anything else is in the bag. The lap top/bladder location should have been provided with its own zipper. It is very difficult to remove your computer for security screening without pulling everything else out. With an additional zipper, this would be the ideal weekend warrior/weekday worker backpack. I would recommend this bag to people who are looking for an all around good backpack, but not for travel.

I'm using this bag as my everyday backpack at college. It is more than large enough to fit all of my book on any given day and doesnt weigh me down at all. The straps are thick and padded making for comfortable hauling. I would recommend this to anyone.

I took this bag to travel from Maryland to Hawaii in August. This bag was great! The size allowed me to carry everythig I needed for a 16 hour flight and maybe more if I needed it. With so many pockets I had no trouble keeping things seperated and well organized. I really liked the straps. I am 6 foot 4 and have a hard time finding bags that fit me and this one does. From traveling and day hiking in Maui I never worried about discomfort. I still use this bag everychance I get. Its strong, good looking, and very practical for everyday use. I would give it 4 out of 4 stars!
