What’s in MY pack? Backpacking gear lists from a Great Smoky Mountains overnighter
"Ever since we published a series of backpacking gear lists this spring (an ultralight backpacking gear list, a traditional backpacking gear list and a beginner’s backpacking gear list) several blog readers have contacted me to ask which of those items I personally carry. After all, it’s one thing to compile lists of suggested backpacking gear, and another thing entirely to disclose exactly what I take on the trail. Well, what better way to follow up those gear lists, and answer that question, than with another gear list?"

Comments about prAna Stretch Zion Convertible Pant (Men's):

Love these pants for just about everything I do. Climbed in them all the time then took them straight away onto the Appalachian trail for my thru hike (currently 1,100 miles in). They are a joy to climb in and love the stretch material when hiking as well. Perfect for the weather when it was a bit cooler but the June temps make them slightly too warm for most days even when the pants are zipped off. Don't dry quite as fast as some other lighter weight nylons out there but repel liquids nicely and still dry pretty fast

interested in purchasing the prAna Stretch Zion Convertible Pant (Men's)

Normally I wear waist size 33, 30in length pants, what PrAna specific spec would you recommend

I see the dark brown has a M Short spec, would that work ?

Prana is unique in that their size M is a 32-33" waist and their size L is a 32-33" waist. I, too, wear a 33 and it means we're tweeners. Either will fit, so it mostly just depends how slim of a fit you prefer. As for length, short is indeed a 30" inseam. This is slightly confusing because, for this season, we went from keeping the short/regular/long products on different pages to keeping them all on the same page. This is why you're seeing short/long lengths available for "dark khaki" but not the other two colors, which are here:

These are the regular (32" inseam" length unless specified otherwise, as with the Dark Khaki colorway.
