      Comments about Petzl E+Lite Headlamp:

I use this headlamp primarily as my caving emergency light. It puts out a lot of light for such a small headlamp. It is so compact that is barely takes up any room in my pack. And knowing that it wont accidently turn on because of the locking switch I don't have to worry about it draining the battery. The red light on it is also great for looking at maps in the dark so you don't get blinded by the reflection.

        Comments about Petzl E+Lite Headlamp:

I consider this lamp an essential part of anyone's gear closet. Although it's not as bright as some other lamps, it's perfect to keep in your car, emergency drawer at home, or in your pack for those times when you really need light. The clip-on feature and red light make it work as a tail light for running/cycling, too.

          Comments about Petzl E+Lite Headlamp:

Originally I bought the E-Lite for a my surival bag, as a "last ditch light," but I now use it as my primary headlamp. For its size, it's insanely bright on the the highest triple LED setting. The battery life is exceptional also- 4 day backpacking trip without changing the batteries.

            Comments about Petzl E+Lite Headlamp:

This little headlamp is great. I take it as a backup to my main light, as well as a replacement to the extra batteries I often carry. Too dim for your main light source, but a great "just in case" light.

              Comments about Petzl E+Lite Headlamp:

I bought this for our camping trip to New Mexico.
It turned out to be very helpful getting about the camp site at night. I never realized how convenient it is to have both hands free. This thing is very light and plenty bright for the camp site doings. But it probably would not be sufficient for serious hiking in the dark.
