Focus on the drop when paddling into double-overhead, not adjusting your shorts. The women's Patagonia Wavefarer Board Shorts are made from quick-drying, water-resistant DWR-treated nylon fabric that’s lightweight and ultradurable. These shorts feature a snap fly with angled ladder-lock tie closure. Contoured waistband, angled side panels and a back yoke with shaping darts refine the fit; topstitching adds durability. The set-in side pocket has a key loop, zipper closure and mesh lining for drainage. Inseam is 4”.
Please be aware that due to a manufacturer error, these shorts are mis-sized by approximately 2 sizes. If you are usuallly 10, you may want to try a 12

This is my third year to buy wavefarers. I used them a LOT and they hold up very well. The fit is flattering and the colors don't fade. I wish they were a little shorter, but other than that, I love them!

I liked these shorts - see all the pro's I checked - but the previous board shorts I got from Patagonia were longer. I should have paid more attention to the description. I think the length is accurately listed, but I missed that and was surprised by the shorter length. A great short for those who want that shorter length.

I really like the style of these shorts, but they do hang a little bit loose. I bought them to raft guide and kayak in. Now I use them for going to the lake and hanging out. They're incredibly comfortable and have a cute print, I just don't trust them to stay on during athletic activity.

For traveling to and from the beach, or general all day wear near water! Looks fantastic, stylish, dries very quickly! Doesn't quite 'hang right' maybe a sizing issue? or cut, am not certain.

Basically exactly what I wanted, except the sizing appeared to run a touch large. The tie closure does help take in the slack though. Otherwise, very comfortable. I'm not a surfer, but this short is also perfect for rafting, enjoying the river, then heading out to play on shore without worrying about a change of clothes. Also one of the few water shorts out there right now that comes in a plain solid black. You wouldn't think that would be hard to find, but it was!

Well, they look good. And if you're mostly hanging out on a boat or at the pool or beach, and really only want to wear a bathing suit in case of splashes, these could be good. But in the actual water, at least on me, despite being quite tight, they sortof float up a little, making them quite uncomfrotable, not to mention the fact that now anyone can see down your pants. Ah, yeah. i couldn't think of a delicate way to say that.
