The men's Wavefarer Board Shorts - 21" by Patagonia are tried and true, live-in-them board shorts made of Supplex nylon with a DWR finish.
The board shorts we live in. For long hikes to secret spots and longer hours in the water, Patagonia's designers make all their surf trunks chafe-proof, with a forward inseam at the crotch. Patagonia's tried-and-true Wavefarers have a low rise, hit just below the knee to prevent wax-rash, and are built from a tough but lightweight, quick-drying 4.3-oz 100% nylon with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish. Details include a flat-lying single-button fly, an easy-access, self-draining side zip pocket with key loop. Inseam (size 32) is 10"; outseam is 21".

I am about 6ft tall and wear a waist sized 32'-33' depending on brand. I ordered the short in waist size 32' and they're still pretty big in the waist. Also they're a little longer than I expected from considering the inseam/outseam length. Overall though a really nice pair of board shorts and made with exceptional quality. Maybe I should just gain some weight.

Purchased these shorts for summer whitewater kayaking. I like the fact that they dry amazingly fast and are almost completely dry by the time I reach the end of a shuttle on the Ocoee. The only drawback I see is the fact that I would personally like a few more pockets. As always, great patagonia quality...

These board shorts look and feel great. They fit well for me (32 inch waist is true to size). Love the styling. There is no Velcro to get in the way and there is relatively nothing that can go wrong with them on long trips.
