The women's Ultralight Down Shirt is Patagonia's lightest-weight insulation, made of a featherweight nylon shell and highly compressible goose down, in a slim silhouette for thermal efficiency.

A winter midlayer, a summer belay jacket and a shoulder-season stand-alone shell all in one: The nylon ripstop Ultralight Down Shirt delivers not only Patagonia's lightest-weight insulation but also the greatest comfort range. Premium 800-fill down provides a luxurious feel and pack-to-nothing compressibility. The sewn-through construction, tight channel pattern and just the right amount of down increase versatility for use in more moderate temperatures and diverse activities; wear it over a baselayer for the skin-in, then throw a shell over the top and you've got a BTU generator. The slim fit maximizes thermal efficiency, the Deluge DWR (durable water repellent) finish sheds snow, and the simplicity complements the function, from high-output endeavors to recovery evenings in the yurt.

First, Patagonia released their Nano Puff series, frequently referring to these as a lightweight insurance policy; “It’s best not to ski out to it without throwing some insurance in your pack,” they said. For Spring 2011, they’ve upped the ante in a big way, with the arrival of the 5.9-ounce Patagonia Ultralight Down Shirt, now their lightest-weight down top on the market and Patagonia’s lightest-weight insulation piece...

Comments about Patagonia Ultralight Down Shirt (Women's):

I love the Ultralight Down Shirt! I wear it as both an insulation layer for extreme conditions and a winter jacket for around town. It has been very durable and functional. This fit is slightly awkward as it is a little baggy in the chest and hips on me, but it's worth it for it's superior light weight!

Comments about Patagonia Ultralight Down Shirt (Women's):

I've read a lot of reviews on this: most said the arms were too tight and it was overall too small. I found the arms to have room for a shirt and not tight. The body was too baggy though... even though Patagonia tends to run on the small side. I ordered the SM and am 5'3" 120lbs. Not sure if I'll try the XS. The pull over style cannot allow for much of a tappered appealing look. (It is an awesome use of down. I love the baffles and the general theory behind the shirt)

Comments about Patagonia Ultralight Down Shirt (Women's):

This pullover is great--it fits well, packs very small, and is definitely comfortable. I have worn it on cold days and warmer days and been happy in both, and it's cute enough to wear it with skirts or jeans or whatever. It's my favorite new purchase of the season!
