When sun-kissed days turn cold, reach for a simple solution without excess: Patagonia's Ultralight Down Jacket warms. It features 800-fill-power 100% Traceable Down (European goose down that can be traced back to birds that were never force-fed, never live-plucked) and an ultralight nylon ripstop shell fabric that’s nearly half the weight and twice the strength of Patagonia's other down shell fabrics. The sewn-through construction, tight channel pattern and just the right amount of down increase versatility for use in more moderate temperatures and diverse activities, while a DWR (durable water repellent) finish sheds snow. A slim silhouette maximizes thermal efficiency and suits its ideal uses: belay jacket over light layers at shaded crags, minimalist summer alpine bivies and unmatched warmth layered under a shell. Pockets include two zippered handwarmers and one zippered chest. A drawcord hem keeps in the heat. Stuffsack included.

Features

  • Ultra lightweight Pertex Quantum shell and liner fabrics use interlocking Y-shaped nylon fibers to enhance the performance of the DWR (durable water repellent) finish
  • 800-fill-power 100% Traceable Down (European goose down that can be traced back to birds that were never force-fed, never live-plucked)
  • Variegated channel construction stabilizes goose down; side panels with narrow channels provide shape and reduce bulk
  • Longer-length hem; center-front zipper has interior storm flap and wicking kissing-welt zipper garage at chin for next-to-skin comfort
  • Two zippered handwarmer pockets and one zippered chest pocket have zipper garages; jacket self-stuffs into chest pocket with carabiner clip-in loop, as well as into the left-hand pocket to become a travel pillow
  • Elastic-bound cuffs and hem with single drawcord adjustment seal in warmth

Comments about Patagonia Ultralight Down Jacket (Men's):

This is a great fall or spring jacket. Unfortunately, it will not carry me through late fall/early winter in New England. I half-expected this to happen and I am unfazed. I love this jacket enough to keep it for use during the other warmer seasons. I know it will last for a long time, and it is stylish without all the bulk.

How could something so light be so warm?

Comments about Patagonia Ultralight Down Jacket (Men's):

This is a really great amount of warmth for the weight, and it figs snugly under other layers if the weather demands it. On its own, I'm happy down to 20 degrees so long as the wind's not up. The biggest selling point is the weight and compressibility - it's exactly what I want in a cool-weather jacket.

Comments about Patagonia Ultralight Down Jacket (Men's):

A truly amazing jacket at ~9 oz., yet keeps me warm in all but the coldest conditions! I got this as an alternative to my TNF Nuptse (700 fill power) jacket because it was a bit bulky and too warm in some cases. The Ultralight is supremely packable into its stuff sack and isn't excessively warm indoors, so I don't have to keep taking it off and putting it on. I often wear it with just a baselayer underneath if it's not too cold outside, and with an R2 high-loft jacket underneath if it's particularly chilly out. The 800 fill power is superb, and I can't say enough positive things about this jacket. The fit is great, and quite warm without the bulk, and the material is highly durable.

Comments about Patagonia Ultralight Down Jacket (Men's):

Really happy with the Patagonia Ultralight Jacket. Very lightweight, nice fit and brilliant finishes. Prefer Patagonia's slimmer design so I can layer it under my spring jackets. Only trade-off is the lighter down means it's not as warm as the heavier jackets but knew that going in. Fast delivery and great sale from Rock Creek (35% OFF).

        Great product

Comments about Patagonia Ultralight Down Jacket (Men's):

This is great for those cold days out on the trail. Those mornings when the headwind is cold and you just slept on top of a bald. When you are about to get out of that warm down sleeping bag just throw this on and your upper half will stay warm. These have the elastic bands at the bottom and around the wrists so it keeps those cold breezes from ruining your mood, it also keeps you from looking like a square if you are using it for casual wear. The great thing about these is that they are lightweight, comfortable, and compact into a fist sized bundle. Good for fall or spring hikes and just chillin during the colder seasons.
