Inspired by our trail running ambassadors’ love of the Strider Shorts and customized to their need for storage on longer runs, we present tthe men's Patagonia Strider PRO Shorts. A fast-drying 50-denier 100% polyester (50% recycled) micro dobby forms the body of these sleek running shorts, while the rear pocket and thigh panels use a non-chafing 100% polyester mesh. Side splits promote airflow, a nonabsorbent mesh lines the waistband and a new, lightweight open-knit 100% polyester stripe mesh liner further enhances breathability. The card-sized center-back pocket closes with a zipper, and drop-in envelope pockets on each hip hold energy gels. With colored reflective logos on the front and back and a Deluge DWR (durable water repellent) finish.

great short for a good long run! the hip pockets hold 2 gels each with no bouncing...and then you have the zipper pocket in the rear for some more nutrition! length and cut is perfect...short enough to allow unrestricted freedom of movement, but long enough so that you dont feel "exposed"!

Patagonia nailed it with these shorts. They are light, dry quickly and are extremely comfortable. The shorter length has a nice fast feel but still provides enough coverage for heading to the grocery store post-run without showing too much skin. With the addition of a zip pocket for valuables and side pockets for gels or other items, this is an ideal short for anything from a quick lunchtime run to a 100 mile race. For years I have waited for a light, shorter, comfortable running short with adequate pockets for long ultras and it is finally here.

I love so many features of these shorts- the pockets on each side to store gels-the rear pocket that stores my ipod during a run, the breathable mesh. These shorts are near perfect. The only problem I had with these shorts was their length. I have come to appreciate and prefer a longer running short. I absolutely found the perfect short with the Pro Striders Patagonia sibling the Nine Trails Shorts with the 8 inch inseam.The short length is the only thing that kept the Pro Strider from being perfect...

The two side pockets are perfect to carry an energy gel or two on long runs. You can't feel what is in there while running.
I like the cut and the color (for the blue model).
