The Men's Slingshot Down Vest by Patagonia is a 600-fill-power goose-down vest which has a snap front, sportswear fit, subtle western-style yoke and drop-tail hem.
Establishing core warmth leaves the arms free to split wood and, once the fire's crackling, to flat-pick chords on the six-string. The Slingshot's 600-fill premium goose down insulation does just that. Its 100% polyester ripstop shell fabric stops wind and has a crosshatch texture for a soft, cottony feel. A smooth lining of 2-oz polyester makes for a supple, snag-free glide over layers. With a snap-front closure and brushed polyester neck lining, two handwarmer pockets and an internal zippered security pocket to hold valuables. Stuff sack included.

I'm always back and forth with sizes when it comes to patagonia products. I went for the medium hoping it'd be a nice fit with layers underneath, but even then, it still felt like I could have gone a size smaller (5'9"/140). Just like with any other piece of clothing, if you have the chance of trying on the piece before purchasing, it wouldn't hurt. Except for that, this vest is very warm and nice to have, while still maintaining that classic look. This is not a very technical piece, but still great nonetheless.
