The Remat by Patagonia is a multipurpose recreational mat for fisherman, surfers, skiers, snowboarders, backpackers, triathletes and surfboard shapers. One man's trash is another man or woman's wader changing mat. The ultimate recycled product, the Remat is a byproduct from automobile gasket manufacturing, reworked and repurposed for a long life of heavy-duty use.
Beyond wader changing, it doubles (or triples) as a driftboat seat cushion, work station floor mat or boat floor cleat protection. The tough, cushy, water- and stain-resistant Remat is also showing up in front of kitchen sinks and mudroom doors wherever anglers live. Made from 100% synthetic nitrile rubber.

I was surprised the mat was foamy, rather than rubbery. It is quite comfortable to stand on while washing dishes, etc. But the holes are pretty large (a small person's heel will slip into them), so it's a good idea to throw a small rug over it.

The Patagonia ReMat is on of those great "duh" products that comes around every few years. Made from scraps of gasket material used in the automotive industry, Patagonia has kept them from the land fill, reformed them and BAM! The ReMat!
Perfect for an entrance way mat, cooking mat in the kitchen, shower mat in the bathroom, padding between surfboards, kneeling pad for the garden, dog food/water mat, etc...The list just goes on... Who knew a simple mat could have so many uses?! Once again, Patagonia has not only kept scraps from the landfills, they have found an innovative way to make something useful for many different people!
