Things that can't be overdone: deep powder, clear skies and furnace-like warmth for the Vallee Blanche in January. Our R4 fabric is the warmest fleece available, with improved Polartec Windbloc polyester that has a windproof laminate sandwiched between a high-loft exterior and an R2 grid interior. This toasty, full-stretch package features Sonic/Stitch construction on all seams, to reduce bulk and enhance suppleness. The improved fit is closer and more technical, while brushed tricot lines the collar and a soft, kissing-welt zipper garage at the chin gives next-to-skin comfort. The updated cuffs and drawcord hem have more elastic for a better seal, and slim, clean-finished zippers close the single chest and two handwarmer pockets. With two internal mesh drop-in pockets, offset shoulder yokes for pack-wearing comfort, and an interior wind flap to prevent chill through the zipper.

Comments about Patagonia R4 Jacket (Men's) Closeout:

I understand the jacket is a high-pile, high-loft shag-carpet of a jacket, but the fit of the body feels a bit bulky. I'm 5' 9" and a fairly lean 150lbs. I've got stupid long arms, and everything about the jacket fits like a dream, except there is a lot of room in the body.

This is my #1 choice for windproof, super cozy fleece jackets above all others. It's fuzzy and soft like bear, and warm like a real insulated shell.

This product replaced all my other jackets (leather and down). Using it for all occasions, casual and going out for movies and theatre. I own two, black and gray.

Comments about R4 Jacket (Men's) Closeout:

I purchased the blue R4 Jacket for my husband to replace his mid insulation layer while skiing in Aspen. Perfect temperature regulation. He normally overheats while coming down the mountain. Never once did he have to open the vent to cool down, and was never cold while on the lift of standing around waiting for me. Stylish enough for apres ski, which is quite important because no one in Aspen is a frumpy skier!

Comments about Patagonia R4 Jacket (Men's) Closeout:

I bought the R4 jacket for my son. He didn't want the typical "winter coat" despite the fact that he attends college where the winds and "lake-effect snows" can be brutal. He loves the R4 and wears it daily, layering it with a hoody or down vest as the weather necessitates. I am happy knowing my son is warm and comfortable, yet dressed for the weather.

For a men's large or even XL, what is the length of the jacket - say the length of the zipper or down the back?

          Thanks

            A:

For the large, the "center back length" (from the neck seam to the bottom of the jacket) is about 28 3/4". For the XL, you can add another full inch to that -- 29 3/4". Hope that helps!
