Micro Puff Vest (Men's) (no-sku-product)
Product Number: 22653
The Men's Micro Puff Vest by Patagonia is a cold-weather core warmer, with its water-resistant, windproof polyester shell and superwarm, highly compressible PrimaLoft One polyester insulation.
Shivering is overrated. At belays and bivies, the high-loft Micro Puff Vest offers cold-weather sanity through ultralight, compressible core warmth. Its durable, supremely efficient synthetic insulation (100-g PrimaLoft One) traps heat even when wet, and the 100% recycled polyester shell with a Deluge DWR (durable water repellent) finish blocks wind and sheds snow. The front zipper is treated with a Deluge DWR and backed by a low-bulk wind flap. Pockets: two handwarmers and one interior zippered chest that doubles as a stuff sack (with a carabiner clip-in loop). Drawcord hem.

Comments about Patagonia Micro Puff Vest (Men's) 2008:
It really hasn't been long enough since I purchased this product to give it a fair review. However, so far I like it. I am around 6' 4" and 210lbs. and have traditionally worn a Large-Tall in clothes from Bean and Bauer. The only negative about this product thus far is that I needed to purchase a Patagonia XL to approximate the ideal Large-Tall. Fortunately, the waist has adjustment cords in the pockets (cool!), but unfortunately, there is no similar adjustment for the collar, which is too big to effectively keep in the heat.

Comments about Patagonia Micro Puff Vest (Men's) 2008:
I got this to wear everyday, to work, to play, to relax. It's warm and slim and super light weight. The only downside is it feels fragile. The main zipper feels fine but the little zippers for the hand pockets feel like they are about to rip the fabric everytime you zip them. The outer shell of the vest is very thin and not rip resistant. I haven't worn this in the woods or anything like that. I just wear it to work and at home and it is tearing on one side. It looks almost like it is wearing out from just getting in and out of my car.
So, its warm and comfy but not very rugged.

Comments about Patagonia Micro Puff Vest (Men's) 2008:
I bought this vest as an extra layer for unexpected weather conditions while backpacking. It is lighter than I expected and compresses down to a ridiculously small size. The warmth the Micro Puff adds is amazing! When I first took it on the trail we encountered a severe cold front and I never even put on my coat. This vest was sufficiently insulating. I recommend it for anyone.

Comments about Patagonia Micro Puff Vest (Men's) 2008:
Already used on a couple of winter day hikes on some of our coldest days (-10F) this winter. A great layer for longer rest periods to maintain warmth- it is feather-light and very compressible. I plan on taking this on a 4-day Appalachian Trail hike in March as a nighttime warmth layer while sitting around relaxing. Probably makes a good pillow too. Wouldn't trade this for any other insulated vest. Actually returned a down vest previously for a variety of reasons (down loss, too puffy, etc.). This one is just right.

Comments about Patagonia Micro Puff Vest (Men's) 2008:
I live in Denver and use this during every season.
Spring: I put this over a baselayer and under my softshell and have not been cold skiing yet.
Summer: Cool summer evenings in Denver on the town are no match for this vest. If the bar gets too hot I can stuff this into itself and put it in my back pocket.
Fall: Everyday I where this to work and use it to jog at night when it's chilly.
Winter: Skiing, out at night, and under my overcoat to work.
Thanks Rock Creek for putting this on sale last two years ago.

Comments about Patagonia Micro Puff Vest (Men's) 2008:
This vest does all I ask of it. I own a blue one and wear it out to the bar, wake up and wear it under my softshell to ski. I also use it to jog when it's chilly and it stands up to rain better than down vests. I dont wear it downpours but it hasnt disappointed me yet.
