The Lightweight Travel Pack by Patagonia is a superlight travel backpack that holds everything you need for a dayhike or trip to the market, and stuffs into its own pocket when not being used.

This super-lightweight backpack lets you put plans in motion. It holds everything you need for exploring city markets or making a summit push on a mountainous trek, and it stuffs into its own pocket. The main compartment uses a simple drawstring closure to keep gear safe and packed tight. There's also a zippered lid pocket for quick access to smaller items. Exterior mesh pockets hold bottles, shell, gloves, etc. Breathable shoulder straps and a webbing waistbelt distribute the load to keep you comfortable. The removable, lightweight foam back doubles as a sitting pad so you can take in the summit view. Made of 1.8-oz 40-denier 100% nylon double-ripstop with a polyurethane coating and a silicone finish. Reinforced with 6.3-oz 210-denier 100% nylon double-ripstop that has a polyurethane coating.

Comments about Patagonia Lightweight Travel Pack - 2008:

This product was exactly as advertised - a lightweight travel pack. I bought it primarily as a pack to use in addition to a suitcase for travel or as an additional pack for use when I run errands or go shopping on my bicycle (my main bicycle pack is a Mountainsmith Lumbar Pack). I also use it for day hikes. Apart from not having a chest strap (which I fixed by using a shoelace), the pack is great. Do buy the pack if you don't mind a little discomfort in return for light weight and minimalism. Don't buy the pack if you want all kinds of bells and whistles in addition to cushy comfort.

Comments about Patagonia Lightweight Travel Pack - 2008:

Used for my carry-on on a recent trip to Mexico. Held all my items I wanted to keep handy during the travel and worked as a great daypack going to the beach or to central for shopping. Swallowed every thing I wanted to put in and had no problems. Very sattisfied with the pack.
