Hi-Loft Down Sweater (Men's)
In Stock Product Number: 26913
The Men's Hi-Loft Down Sweater by Patagonia iss like a Down Sweater, only warmer: The Hi-Loft is built with a lightweight 100% polyester ripstop shell, and packed with toasty, highly compressible 800-fill-power goose down - ideal as a midlayer or stand-alone layer for those venturing into colder climes and climbs.
The only way to improve the already dialed Down Sweater: add a little extra down. Bigger channels for more fill make the Hi-Loft a warmer big brother to the Down Sweater. The sharp-looking, polyester ripstop shell, with a Deluge DWR (durable water repellent) finish, also blocks the wind and resists tears and abrasion. Finer details include top-quality 800-fill-power goose down, a quilted-through construction, two exterior zippered pockets, an interior zippered security pocket, nylon-bound elastic cuffs and a drawcord hem. Stuff sack included.

I never give anything 5 stars but this is close. Biggest problem was fit.
I'm a tweener at 6'3" 220# and tried both the L and XL. I kept the XL. Thanks to Rock Creek for taking back the Large.
I have broad shoulders and the large was too small across the shoulders although sleeve length was OK. It fit well around the body.
The Xl is a bit too generous around the body but fit my shoulders well.
For comparison I wear a 17 -36 dress shirt.
The large layered a bit better under jackets.
I have a 15 year old North Face Nuptse with 700 down. It is REALLY puffy. The patagonia is slimmer, lighter and warmer.
- No bells and wistles
Hiked once so far in Vermont in 30F and it worked well. Got warm at times. Very simple design without any extra pockets, materials, or fashion touches. Well constructed, seemingly high quality, and comfortable. Not sure if the price is justified, but time will tell.
We recently had the first below freezing temperatures this year, and the coat easily handled winter's cold. It is not as bulky as other coats with the same number of down feathers. I am starting to lose some down, which I think is normal for any down coat, but I was hoping the molting would begin after I had owned it for at least a month or two.
