And, like the pants, the comfortable fit, zippered fly and constructed waist with stretch sections and belt loops make the Guidewater Shorts ideal for pretty much any activity. i purchased these pants to fill the role of an outdoor activities short and yet be able to be worn out at a sports bar or something without looking like a technical outdoor gear nerd (which i probably am). these shorts look good enough to wear out but i get my best use of them fishing. whether i'm catfishing on the ohio river or trying to catch largemouth in a local lake these shorts do a great job. light to stay cool and spf protection for these sunny summer days on the water. it seems the dwr treatment only repels the spray from the water for so many washes, but they dry very quickly. shorts are built well and the best thing i noticed about them is that hooks are easily removed from the material without tearing holes. i'll probably get the full pants version for early and late season fishing.
