The Women's Downtown Loft Jacket by Patagonia is an 800-fill down jacket with a sporting attitude; made of polyester with a Deluge DWR (durable water repellent) finish.

The 800-fill goose-down insulation keeps you warm while the coat's satin polyester shell treated with a Deluge DWR (durable water repellent) finish blocks out wind and moisture. With elegant contoured quilting and an articulated hood that stealthily stows into a shawl collar. The 2-way zipper has a wind flap; the zippered on-seam handwarmer pockets and interior chest pocket stash must-haves. Length falls at hip.

Very comfortable and warm but not bulky. More stylish and fitted than most insulated jackets. Love the hood that looks like a collar when tucked under. I wish it came in more basic colors (brown, tan) because the colors I have seen are hard to match with outfits. I bought the adobe which is more orange than brown. The moss color is nice. I am 5'5" and 110 pounds and the extra small fits nice with a thin sweater. I would need a small for bulkier clothing.

I use this around town in below freezing weather. The high-fill down is incredibly warm and I don't look like the Stay-Puff marshmallow man!! It's versatile and can be worn with dress clothes or jeans/sweats. Absolutely love it!

I liked the downtown loft coat so much I bought the jacket, too for more active and/or warmer days. Again, I ordered the large even though my measurements are in the upper range of the size medium per the size chart because it's a slim fit and I don't like anything too form-fitting. The only negative I would say is that the zipper takes getting used to. In the beginning I had to open/close in short spurts because the zipper would almost get caught, but it's getting better with practice.
