The Men's Down Sweater by Patagonia is an ultralight jacket with highly compressible down insulation and a windproof shell for cold mountain pursuits.
There's much to see 14,000 feet up at the Chasm View bivy: a vertigo-inducing panorama of the Diamond and alpenglow over the Rockies. There's also chilly air in any season, and that's where Patagonia's Down Sweater comes in. It delivers minimal weight, superb compressibility and high-loft warmth. The ripstop shell (1.4-oz 22-denier) with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish does more than look sharp: It's tear-resistant and windproof and made from 100% all-recycled polyester. Details include top-quality 800-fill-power goose down, a quilted-through construction, two exterior zippered pockets, a stretch-mesh interior chest pocket that doubles as a zippered stuff sack and a carabiner clip-in loop. Drawcord hem.

Used as a seasonal daily jacket and under a shell for skiing. This jacket is meant to be fairly form fitting and at 5'11" 165 lbs with lean frame the small fits perfectly.

I got this jacket for walking around New York City in the winter -- things can get quite cold when the wind shoots up the avenues.
I've been out with the jacket in 20 degree weather with only a t-shirt underneath and have been completely comfortable -- even when it's windy.
A major plus of the jacket is how compact it is. Unlike my wool overcoat, it takes up little room on the back of chair at movie theaters and concerts.

Works for temps in low 60s down to low 30s. Incredible something so lightweight can be so warm. Nice shape, doesn't turn u into a balloon. I got one, then bought one 4 my man and 2 grandkids. Their parents love that they can wear them in their cars seats, unlike more bulky jackets. Also great for plane travel because the jacket rolls up into its own pocket, which fits in the seat pocket. Grab one before they change them for the worse or drop the model. Hmmm.....tempted to get another...

I have been coveting this jacket since my wife, daughter and son-in-law all bought their versions of it last year. When I finally found one in the color I wanted at a good price, I jumped. It is a truly beautiful and beautifully-made jacket, and so lightweight that it doesn't seem real, but it is, and very warm as well.

At 68 I have owned many down garments. This sweater is the best, it's a quality garment, retains body warmth, which is important for old people, is ultralight and looks good. I also love the colors… I've been walking the Pacific Crest Trail and needed a sweater that was light weight and very compressible, space is an issue on extended walks.
