The Atom by Patagonia is a multitasker's cloud nine, the Atom plays the part of courier bag, daypack and carry-on. Its teardrop shape provides the support of a daypack by positioning the load behind your shoulder, and the single-strap design makes getting to the goods simple - just spin it around front.

The large zippered main pocket has zippered mesh and stretch-woven pockets. A convenient zippered pocket on the shoulder strap has a soft lining to protect valuables. Breathable, moisture-moving 3-D spacer mesh pads the shoulder strap and back panel.

Made with 420-denier 100% nylon oxford plain weave with a Deluge® DWR (durable water repellent) finish.

      Comments about Patagonia Atom:

I love this bag! I bought it to be my primary summer bag and it has been perfect. I am an activity leader at a summer camp and it has been great for my long days. It is comfortable, not too heavy, and I get compliments on its color. The inner large pocket is perfect for my sunscreen and wallet and the liner keeps my water bottle from sweating on my maps. I have gone hiking and biking and it is an awesome small bag that leaves my hands free. I have also clipped on and used the straps fairly often.

          Comments about Patagonia Atom:

Handy: carries small camera, rain jacket, Kindle, earphones, small water bottle or other combinations of net book, camera, kindle, etc. Jacket or towel (always bring one) can strap to outside when needed. It's small and not feminine for carrying in the American South.

            Comments about Patagonia Atom:

I bought the Atom in green for a two-week trip to Scotland. I wanted a bag that left my hands free yet allowed easy access to everything in it. The Atom did not disappoint. It holds a lot of stuff for its size. The pocket on the strap is too small for many phones, but I used it to stash lip goop and keys. I also used the outside straps to attach a water bottle using a carabiner.

                A:

The capacity is sort of hidden on the "specifications" tab -- Volume: 7 L / 427 cu in. Sorry about that!
