The Zip supports the ambitions of the 8-13 year old set, with features like a dedicated laptop and document sleeve and side and bungee compression for outdoor adventures.
- Panel loader – The Jet and Zip packs are both panel loaders.
- Sternum strap with whistle buckle – A whistle buckle is provided on the sternum strap for use in emergencies or to aid in locating a lost parent
- Internal mesh pocket with key clip – An internal mesh pocket with key clip separates smaller items to keep them from getting lost in the main compartment
- Internal ID holder pocket – Identification is made easy with an internal ID holder pocket.
- Fleece lined harness – The Jet and Zip harnesses are lined with a soft and comfortable fleece to ensure a comfortable carry.
- Front bungee compression system – Carry jackets or other soft items on the outside of the pack using the front bungee compression system
- Two side mesh pockets with InsideOutTM compression - Side mesh pockets with InsideOutTM compression keep water bottles and other gear secure
- Internal laptop and document sleeve – The internal laptop and document sleeve provide a safe, padded area to carry computers and school work.
- Electronics port – An electronics port is provided for routing headphone cables or other electronic devices.
- Blinker light attachment – An attachment point is provided for blinker lights.
- Hydration exit port – The Zip is hydration compatible with an exit port at the top of the pack

Comments about Osprey Zip 25 Backpack:
Backpack is too small for the middle schooler who must haul binders/books/etc. to and from school. Not a whole lot of space, or extra pockets, zippers. My son complained the straps dug in around his shoulder and neck. He has been using a samsonite backpack for years and recently wanted to try the osprey brand. He has sacrificed comfort and space for style. Also, we have spent more on this backpack than on all others.
