For cold and snowy multi-day mountain expeditions on Mount Hood, the Osprey Mutant 38 is strong, lightweight, and simple, all key elements of the alpinist philosophy: go light, go strong, or go home.

Featuring a compression molded foam backpanel for comfort and stability, the mutant also features a removable bivy pad and a removable HDPE framsheet for the light and quick transformation. The Mutant 38 has durable external fabric for excessive wear-and-tear, and the side Z-compression allows you to pack down your gear into a manageable size. The Mutant also features duel ice ax loops for quick and easy access. The fixed hipbelt has Hypalon racking loops on the outside, and can be wrapped around the back of the pack for easy storage or travel.
