The Osprey 2 Liter HydraForm Reservoir design sandwiches an anatomically shaped molded plastic sheet between a layer of nylon fabric and the reservoir back. This forces the reservoir to conform to the back’s complex shape, even when full. The result is a more precise, stable and comfortable fit. Additionally, this reservoir has a rigid handle/spine that stabilizes the load of the water while also serving as a more convenient design to slide the reservoir into the pack.

Comments about Osprey HydraForm Reservoir (2 L):

Water bladders are fairly cut and dry. Something to put water in, with a straw to get it out with. Boom. You're done. For a long time a certain company that we will be known in this review as Came... er, Ungulate-Hump dominated the market. And yeah, it worked. But it had a tendency to blob up if you tried to put it into your pack after it's already been loaded.

Nalgene and Osprey fixed this problem with a bladder that is backed by a riged plastic piece that ever so slightly curves in the shape of one's spine. Load your pack, fill up your bladder and slide, yes SLIDE it in. See, that's pretty sweet isn't it?
