Steel carbiners are for use in applications where high strength and durability are of primary importance and weight is a secondary consideration. Full size offset D locking carabiners are ideal for rescue amd industrial applications, as well as schools and ropes courses. Tempered steel carabiner utilizes a gate lock design which eliminates the danger of the locking mechanism being over-tightened, causing it to bind. Gate lock carabiners are preferred in rescue applications where the carabiners are continually checked for security.

A very dependable biner , I own 15 units . I have found these durable but as with all my biners ,if they get nicks / burs I put them in a jewelry tumbler after filing down large burs .
