This is actually a very good jacket! works properly in every bad situation including cold wind snow storm foggy and rainy weather; the 3-1 is awesome, most of time just a T-shirt under it is enough to gran you a great warm and comfortable experience; you can't get anything better at this price, never had a drop of water inside my jacket! ;)
PS: 4 stars cause there should be a button on the low back to fix the interior fleet with the waterproof jacket so that the fleet won't come out since its a bit longer than the external jacket.
Pros
- Good quality material
Cons
- Odd Fit
Best Uses
- Sent back
I ordered this jacket because I really liked the idea of getting a great rain jacket, fleece and winter jacket all in one. I live in Northern North Dakota and it drops to -40F and also has massive temperature swings (60F change in 12 hours)so I figured TNF triclimate would be prefect. Unfortunately I never was able to test this because the fit was so weird. I ordered a large because that is what I usually wear in TNF gear, but this jacket was so tight on my shoulders that there is no way anything but a t-shirt would fit underneath. The outer layer I liked on its own but the fleece liner was shaped like a bell and stuck out way behind me letting in all kinds of wind. This could have been fixed if there was a way to tighten the bottom but there isn't. If it would have fit I would have been thrilled but I begrudgingly sent it back. Be warned it fits for lots of people but if you are large shouldered and have a narrow waist it might not be a good fit for you.
