I have an 800 fill down jacket and its a little much sometimes unless its really cold outside and it doesn't offer any protection from the rain. I've owned several soft shells and this one is by far the best. I can pretty much do anything I want in this jacket and not have to worry about if its going to be warm enough because of its thermal properites. Most soft shells do not have this and have to be layerd. The jacket is absoultely amazing and is by far not only the best soft shell but probably the best all round jacket I've owned.

I wear short sleeve shirts so I decided on the apex summit thermal TNF Black after reading other reviews Im glad I did this jacket is warm and has a great fit it is well worth the extra money!My only complaint was it didn't have the zipper pulls as pictured I called NorthFace they sent them to me no problem.
