I've used a WhisperLite on backpack trips in the Rockies, for car camping, and on picnics for the last 10 years. Bought a second to use in an upcoming trip for some new backpackers, for which I'll be supplying gear. Can't be beat for ease of use and durability. I've never had a problem with it on any trip. If it has a down fall, it can be difficult to regulate for "serious" cooking, i.e. simmer, but for boiling water and general use, it's great!
