The Alpine Utility Pant from Mountain Khakis are built for maximum performance. These relaxed fit, hardworking pants will take a beating on mountain and off. The outer fabric has been double layered in high stress areas (rear panel as well as knee panel) to ensure they withstand the toughest elements your adventures turn up.
Quality features include: YKK zipper, riveted metal button, grosgrain in waist and zipper, triple stitching and bar tacks in stress areas. Constructed of 10.4 ounce, 100% cotton duck canvas.
Durability in the mountains is essential and that’s why Mountain Khakis developed a custom made 100% cotton duck canvas with thick ring spun yarn - making it one of the toughest fabrics available.
At 10.4oz, MK duck canvas is extremely abrasion resistant due to the double ply weave on both the warp and weft. This allows them to produce a lighter canvas without sacrificing durability. All of Mountain Khakis' fabric is pre-washed and brushed before cutting and sewing. These processes produce products with unparalleled broken in comfort.

I would highly recommend this product for the mountains or the desert. I recently tried them out on a quail hunt and the double lining stood up to the many thorny plants that are native to west Texas. I cannot wait to wear them on a fly fishing adventure. I would recommend getting one size larger on the waist when you order. The waist seems to run a little small and with the double lining my normal size seemed a little snug around the waist and thigh area.

These pants are some of the most comfortable work pants I have ever slid my legs into. They are truly bomber, move really well (the gusseted crotch is great), look good and can hold up to a full day's work outdoors, whether you are cutting trees or playing ball with the kids. Plenty of reinforcements and pockets where needed.
