The Sub Zero Down Jacket by Mountain Hardwear is one of the warmest down coats you will see in the outdoor market because it is exclusively designed for cold weather climbing and mountaineering. Constructed with a 650 fill goose down and protected with an outer material made of 100% polyester microfiber ripstop that is incredibly durable and actually very soft. Treated with a DWR finish that repels light mist or snow, keeping the down from saturating.
Great for standing around the boulder fields in between your sends, or chilling at base camp waiting for your alpine start.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Down Jacket (Men's) 2008:
A brilliant jacket that was ruined by one elemnt. It is the shortest down jacket I have ever tried.
Fantastic for belaying with a harness on but if you want to wear it the rest of the time it's just too short in the body.
A real shame.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Down Jacket (Men's) 2008:
We took this jacket up Mt. Kilimanjaro and it was perfect. I bought the men's large size for my teenage daughter so she would have lots of room and the length would go a little longer then women's cuts.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Down Jacket (Men's) 2008:
This is definitely the warmest and most comfortable coat I own. It's great for temps in the 20s and lower. Once you get near & above 32, it's too warm. It really does feel like you're wearing a pillow, which is good and bad. Good because you're wrapped in soft, cushy warmness. Bad because you feel like the Michelin Man walking around in it. Overall, I really like the coat.
