This jacket is very warm, one of the warmest I own. I recently wore it out in the rain and amazingly I didn't get wet. The fleece is such a high pile that the rain couldn't get through it. I wouldn't recommend wearing it as a rain coat, but if it's cold and wet out, you'll do fine. The Jacket is a little form fitting and the sleeves are a little long but I have long arms so it fits me great. I'm 6 feet tall and a large fits me fine. I like the extra length in the sleeves. The only con about this jacket is that wind blows right through it. I wear this as a stand alone jacket in the winter in NYC and I'm fine with a sweater on underneath it. Love this jacket.

I do a lot of hiking, camping and work in EMS/Fire and was looking for a good light weight jacket for layering. I have lots of Mountain Hardwear gear and apparel. This jacket is great for the average user that is wanting a light weight jacket that is stylish. The fit is defiantly athletic. I am 5'8" 165lbs and ordered a large. The sleeves are about 4" long, but the mid section fits good. Defiantly could go with a medium if it wasn't so tight around the abs. The jacket is made well...zipper, loft, all the seams are good. The only complaint is it is NOT WIND PROOF...good thing I am going to use it as a layer for my Mountain Hardwear shell on cold days and my light weight jacket.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Monkey Man Jacket (Men's):
Another good quality product from Mountain Hardware. If anything, their items are slightly on the small size so if you want to wear this over some really thick under layers, go a size up.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Monkey Man Jacket (Men's):
Simple, but cleverly-designed All-Round-Jacket..
LightWeight, Super Warm (=Patagonia's R3 Jkt), Cozy..
Windproofness is not a Question, As we all know It's not designed for that.
Under the Hard Shell it's Perefect!
I love this Jacket, but the arms are longer than average(like real Monkey? ^^)

This is a great jackey! I had one older model and the sleeves are a bit short but the new one I ordered has longer sleeves and it fits great. Very comfortable and versatile. Highly recommend this jacket for all activities.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Monkey Man Jacket (Men's):
The Monkeyman jacket is very warm and compact-able. I wear it around town, and take it on all my backpacking/camping trips. This jacket doesn't block the wind very well, but as long as I wore a long sleeve shirt underneath I was fine. I will definitely buy another one when this one is gone.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Monkey Man Jacket (Men's):
The fabric used in this jacket is so soft and cuddly yet masculine, light weight yet warm. The elastic type fabric at the sleeve ends keeps it durable and the cold air out!
